Power Customer Contracts Consultant

Position for a writer with experience in legal business consulting.
6 month contract located in Knoxville, TN.

• Effectively and efficiently support the development, drafting, execution, and administration of power contracts and related documents that memorialize and make legally enforceable the various commercial arrangements which secures payment for more than $10 billion of annual power sales.

• Coordinate the development of new contracts and provides guidance to  personnel on contractual issues related to power supply and delivery, sale of facilities, wholesale and retail rate changes, and implementation of various power-related customer programs. Develop overall project plans and timelines, and direct staff and resources needed to successfully complete those projects. Work closely with internal and external business partners who develop new products and programs to identify and resolve contractual issues.

• Draft contracts and related documents that accurately implement rates, products, and programs. Serve as liaison to and authoritative resource for internal business partners regarding ongoing contract support, e.g., troubleshooting, contract supplements, etc.

• Peer review contracts in a thorough and accurate manner. Identify and implement best practices in contract drafting and review. Work includes a broad scope of contract administration, project management, and program administration activities.

• Responsible for reviewing, reading, analyzing, processing, indexing, and abstracting power supply and related contracts. Serve as a 'subject matter' expert on existing contractual obligations and terms.

• Responsible for implementing best practices in the development of program documentation, including contracts; program implementation; and program and contract administration.

• Consultant to management in Pricing & Contracts and internal and external business partners on TVA’s power contracts.

• Must possess excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, and must have the ability to learn to analyze and organize complex concepts and ideas in a manner to clearly document power supply and delivery arrangements between TVA and its customers.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or discipline related to the generation, transmission, and/or sale of electricity as well as an  MBA, JD, or similar post graduate degree is required.
