Duties
Represents Construction Management on the project team and has ownership of the project and/or work scope technical, cost and schedule baselines. Manage complex construction projects and corrective maintenance orders from the conceptual design phase through project completion to ensure safety, quality, technical baseline, budget, schedule, and site procedures and goals are established, implemented and managed. This position provides an interface between project program personnel, area operations personnel and the construction execution organization. The candidate will monitor and facilitate construction performance from conception to completion.
The successful candidate will be required to facilitate resolution of installation, schedule and technical issues which will require significant interface with multiple organizations including Construction Mgt., Subcontract Mgt., Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Radiological Protection Group, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Design Engineering, Operating Facility Systems Engineering, and Operating Facility Management. Resolving these issues will often require the candidate to exercise discretion and independent judgment in order to determine the appropriate path forward after the various possibilities have been considered.
Required Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Candidate must meet at least one of the following:
1) Bachelor's degree and at least 11 years of practical experience in construction.
2) Associate's degree and at least 13 years of practical experience in construction.
3) A high school diploma and at least 15 years of practical experience in construction.
Skills/Specific Experience
Candidate must possess all of the following experience and/or skills:
1) Experience with developing construction cost estimates and resource loaded schedules
2) Experience coordinating various groups in a construction environment
3) Have a good working knowledge of construction project performance monitoring techniques
4) Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferences
Previous experience performing cost estimates and schedules utilizing SRS specific processes, programs, procedures and systems is preferred. Experience with SRS software such as MS-Office, Primavera P6, COBRA (cost management) and Asset Suite (work management) is highly preferred. Knowledge of earned value management practices would be a plus.
