JOB DESCRIPTION FUNDAMENTALS:
Acquire Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engineer proficient in NQA-1 2008/2009a CGD to support the Facilities and Systems Engineering department CGD program implementation. The CGD program implementation tasks include: CGD technical evaluations; preparing CGD documentation in accordance with requirements and procedures; interpreting Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) references; determining equipment/component safety function; identifying equipment/component performance requirements, functional classification and service conditions; confirm CGD criteria compliance; determine and document replacement item Like-for-Like or equivalency; perform Failure Mode, Failure Mechanism and Effect analysis; identify and document critical characteristics and acceptance criteria; identify dedication method(s) for verification of acceptance criteria; perform review/comment/comment resolution process; presentations to the CGD review board; CGD document reviews; CGD program and program implementation assessments.
Candidate must demonstrate ability to provide effective leadership to other CGD and/or Design Authority Engineers.
Candidate must demonstrate experience and knowledge of equipment and item testing, performance data (environmental and seismic), standards and lab listings data collection capabilities and uses for development of complaint CGD.
Candidate must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately through: reports, evaluations, documents, procedures, comment review/resolution, e-mail, and oral presentations.
Candidate must be capable of coordinating, interfacing and communicating with SRNS management, engineering, facility and operations personnel.
Work Hours:
40 hour work week ending Sunday of each week, initial work schedule is Shift 32 - 4/10s (10 hour day, four days each week of Monday through Thursday). Alternate work schedules may be implemented; SRNS utilizes various work schedules: 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week, Monday through Friday); 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday); 9/80s (9 hours/day, 5 days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS Holidays. Each work day has a 30- minute lunch break.
Education
BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Nuclear engineering
Qualification Required
At least ten (10) years DOE/DOD nuclear Commercial Grade Dedication experience,
Demonstrate ability to provide effective leadership to other CGD and/or Design Authority Engineers,
Demonstrate sufficient experience with DOD/DOE nuclear facilities, projects, assignments in supply chain logistics, and commercial grade dedication to perform tasks associated with Job Description Fundamentals,
Demonstrate experience, knowledge, familiarity and subject matter expertise with CGD and associated ASME NQA1 2008/2009A, Codes, Engineering Standards, DOE Orders and Code of Federal Regulations,
Confirm subject matter expert pedigree with NQA-1 and CGD through providing objective evidence as applicable of committee association, committee membership, project assignments, project support, and/or valid work experience,
Demonstrate ability to: write CGD documents; compose formal reports; conduct CGD assessments; instruct and train CGD subjects; perform CGD technical evaluations; qualify as CGD subject matter expert,
Demonstrate proficiency with Computers and Software: Microsoft Word (required), Excel (required) and Power Point (required); File Maker Pro (required);
Intergraph Smart Plant Foundation (optional); Asset Suite (optional).
A DOE Site Security Clearance is not initially required; personnel will be badged as un-cleared. However, candidate must be capable of obtaining a DOE ‘L’ Security Clearance.
